A whole new world.

'Foliage I' by Abbey Merson

'Foliage I' / Lemon Tree

It's been a week since I became a full-time artist.

One whole week.

AND I have painted every day.

It has been amazing. Literally, living my dream.

I was nervous that I wouldn't know where to start, but I needn't have worried - there is so much to do and I'm finding inspiration everywhere.

- It's so exciting -

I have a new studio set-up in town, which I have unimaginitively named 'Back Room Studio'.

It is located in the back room at Magpie, 203 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings.

Please feel free to drop in anytime and see what I am working on or just say HI.

I had a few social followers/lovers of my art visit me this week and it was amazing meeting you. It means alot to me that you love my pieces as much as I love creating them.

This week, I started a new series - Foliage - hopefully it will stick around and you will love it. I plan to keep this series wild, loose and colouful. And large.

The first installment has been completed.

[Foliage I / Lemon Tree] is 1m wide and 1.2m tall and the next piece in the series is underway.

I'm also working on my third piece in the 'Posy' series.

Now this, I am very very excited about and you should see it completed within the next week.

Also, on Wednesday (Anzac Day), my beautiful sister @TillyAznieveArt & I have a stall at the Clifton Makers Market.

We're pretty excited and have been working on some cool, one-off pieces in anticipation.

Check out our instagrams for sneek peeks.

XO Abbey.
