A Posy & A Special Project

Helloooo!

Well it's been an exciting few weeks since my last update, and also going to be an exciting few weeks ahead!

I have a new 'posy' in the series, a third 'Foliage' original, a new and very special series I'm calling the #loveforallproject and a stall at the next CRAFTZILLA market.

Read on for more info!

[ Posy V / Autumn Blooms ]

This glorious posy is super cute. Super pink. And just so pretty.

She measures 28"x 28" / 710mm x 710mm and is painted on a 40mm deep stretched canvas.

Please contact me if you would like to view, or pop into Magpie, 203 Heretaunga St East, Hastings.

She is also available as a print in various sizes.

[ Foliage III / Fiddle Leaf Fig ]

The third piece in my foliage series, the fiddle-leaf fig glows in emerald, mustard & orange - the photo just doesn't do it justice.

He measures 28"x 28" / 710mm x 710mm and is painted on a 40mm deep stretched canvas.

Please contact me if you would like to view, or pop into Magpie, 203 Heretaunga St East, Hastings.

He is also available as a print in various sizes.

[ A very special project ]

I have also started a new series. It's hard not too, I have so many ideas tucked away. But this is a very special project to me, and I hope I can effectively express what I'm trying to do.

I am calling it my 'Love for all' project.

I put a call out on social media this week asking for women to model for me. I don't care about your age, race, or size, I want to paint real women. And share how awesome you are for the things you do, the things you have overcome or are struggling with, for just being yourself. I want to show that it doesn't matter that you don't look a certain way or conform to a percieved social norm.

You're unique and we're all made of the same stuff on the inside. You're you. And that's awesome.

I was hoping I would get one or even two women brave enough to step in front of the camera (because I know deep down I would not be that brave myself!) but I was blown away with the response.

I even had to start taking bookings for next month.

Turns out its a subject a lot of us believe is important and want to help out with.

I photographed over a dozen women this week, and though I wasn't planning on starting this project for a few weeks, the energy from meeting you all has got me amped and ready to go!

I have already posted the first two portraits online and the response has been phenomenal.

#loveforall - Courtney

If you don't follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I really suggest you do to keep up with this project. I am painting and uploading two - three new portraits of awesome women each week and I'm going to be asking for more models at the beginning of each month.

If you'd like to be a part of this project, or want to support it in any way, please let me know.

I'm not 100% sure where this project will end up yet, (I have a few ideas) but I don't want to shape it too much - I want to explore the idea with the community and enjoy the journey.

I know from personal experience, that too often anxieties and fears hold us back from enjoying and loving our lives. Let's show the next generations that they are joining a proud community of strong women who love and support one another.

Please share the #loveforallproject with your pals, mums, sisters & daughters.

[ One Last Note ]

I'm going to be at CRAFTZILLA!! Roar! Haha, yes I'm a dork sometimes, but I'm really excited to be a part of the second Craftzilla in two weeks time.

It's held @ the Common Room in Hastings on Sunday the 24th of June, 6pm - 9pm. $10 door entry and you get a drink and buffet supper with entry. I know it's going to be a blast so I hope to see you there.

Thanks & stay awesome!
